My name is Derek Ko, and I’ve been an ACSW Teletherapist here at Wings of the Future for just over a year. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California in May 2023.
My passion for providing psychotherapy stems from my own personal experiences navigating emotional pain, growth, and healing. This journey inspired me not only to better understand myself but also to explore the deeper workings of the human mind and behavior—and to build meaningful, impactful connections with others.
In my work, I strive to create a safe and supportive space grounded in self-compassion and authenticity. My background includes supporting clients with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and Autism. I am certified in Level 1 TEAM-CBT and in Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), and I typically integrate both mindfulness and cognitive behavioral approaches in therapy.
