Hi, I’m Shelline Jeanty, LMSW. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker in Texas and hold an MSW degree. I have experience supporting adolescents, young adults, and families navigating emotional challenges, trauma, family conflict, and life transitions.
My passion for therapy comes from my own experiences with trauma and the support I received from therapists and social workers along the way. Having people who listened, understood, and supported me made a real difference in my life and inspired me to want to do the same for others. I’m passionate about helping people feel less alone as they navigate life’s hardest moments. Life can get messy, and sometimes we’re just trying to figure it all out one day at a time, and that’s okay! I want clients to know they don’t have to have all the answers or have everything figured out to show up and do the work.
My therapeutic approach is compassionate, collaborative, and strengths-based. I incorporate CBT-informed techniques, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and solution-focused strategies. I also value an emotion-focused approach that helps clients identify, understand, and express their feelings in ways that support healthier relationships and personal growth.
Cultural competency is essential to my work. Growing up in a Haitian household has helped me appreciate how culture, family expectations, and lived experiences can shape the way people understand and express their emotions. I strive to create a welcoming, culturally responsive space where clients feel respected and comfortable being themselves. I believe therapy should honor each person’s culture, values, and lived experiences. My goal is to create a space where clients feel comfortable exploring difficult emotions and working toward growth in a way that feels meaningful to them.
